Class of 2024 Spotlight - Karli

With recital right around the corner, we are shining the spotlight on our graduating seniors one at a time. Today, we're thrilled to celebrate Karli, who has danced in all styles and in Company at The Pointe. Karli is a Linn-Mar HS Graduate and 14-year PSD dancer! She is an excellent role model for our younger dancers and has been a very helpful assistant in our growing Acro program!

This year, Karli has competed in several group dances, a duet and a trio, and performed as Dew Drop in our first Nutcracker production. In Karli's own words, here are some dance career highlights and advice for dancers.

How long have you been dancing?

I have been dancing since I was four, this is my 14th year dancing. I have also been competing for 7 years.

What is your favorite routine that you've performed?

My favorite dance was "Old Days". This is a small group contemporary company dance choreographed by a guest choreographer, Penny.

Favorite dance memory?

My favorite dance memory is doing duets with Gretchen.

Favorite genre of dance (and why)?

My favorite style of dance is contemporary - it can be dark and spooky.

I love dancing at The Pointe because....

I make new friends.

What are your plans (as of now) for after high school?

I'm attending St. Thomas College!

What advice would you give younger dancers?

My advice to younger dancers is to have fun.
