For general information about the NHSDA at Clarion Center for the Arts, visit the blog post below.

National Honor Society for Dance Arts

STEP 1: Download the NHSDA Order Form & Point Tracker to start tracking your points the summer before 6th grade.

  • Page 1 has instructions and the order form.

  • Page 2 lists ways for students to earn points. The majority of points must be earned through regular weekly class attendance and other CCA activities.

  • Page 3 is for students to track their regular weekly class attendance. These hours should NOT include any rehearsals (i.e. Holiday Ballet or competition), camps or assisting.

  • Page 4 is for students to track all other dance related activity. This is where students should track participation in shows (i.e. Holiday Ballet, Recitals, Musicals, School Productions), competition, camps and student assisting. A CCA Teacher will assign points for each activity after the form is submitted.

  • Junior students (Grades 6-8) must earn 15 points between the summer before 6th grade and the end of 8th grade.

  • Secondary students (Grades 9-12) must earn 30 points between the summer before 9th grade and the end of 12th grade.

STEP 2: Apply for Induction through the NHSDA website at www.ndeo.org/nhsda/Apply-for-Induction. Junior Chapter is for grades 6-8 and Secondary Chapter is for grades 9-12.

STEP 3: Fill out the order form and return it along with your 2-page point tracker. If you have enough points to be inducted, the order total will be added to your account and we will complete the Induction process.

NOTE: You must reapply for Secondary Chapter Induction and Honors if you are not at first inducted for those. Use the same NHSDA Order Form & Point Tracker above to track the additional points needed and order induction items. You may choose to wait until you are eligible for Secondary Chapter Induction with Honors (9-12th grade with 45 points) in order to go through and pay for the process only once.
