NHSDA Induction

National Honor Society for Dance Arts

Induction:

  1. The summer before 6th grade, dancers can start using the NHSDA Point Tracker to collect points.

    1. Page 1 lists ways for students to earn points. The majority of points must be earned through regular weekly class attendance and other CCA activities.

    2. Page 2 is for students to track their regular weekly class attendance. These hours should NOT include any rehearsals (i.e. Holiday Ballet or competition), camps or assisting.

    3. Page 3 is for students to track all other dance related activity. This is where students should track participation in shows (i.e. Holiday Ballet, Recitals, Musicals, School Productions), competition, camps and student assisting. Students should only list the activity, place and date. A CCA Teacher will assign points for each activity after the form is submitted. Here is an example of the Other Dance Activities tracker.

    4. Junior students (Grades 6-8) must earn 15 points between the summer before 6th grade and the end of 8th grade.

    5. Secondary students (Grades 9-12) must earn 30 points between the summer before 9th grade and the end of 12th grade.

  2. Once the Point Tracker is completed, return it to the CCA Office.

  3. Your Point Tracker will be reviewed to determine your total number of points earned before being returned to you. 

  4. Next, apply for induction at the NHSDA website

  5. Then make a payment for your induction and order your certificate, pin and cords through our NHSDA Induction Order Form.

  6. A CCA Team member will confirm the application and order induction items on your behalf! Both the application on the NHSDA website (Step #4) and the Order Form (Step #5) must be completed before your induction is confirmed.

Graduation with Honors:

After being inducted into the Honor Society, students have the opportunity to work for more points and Graduate with Honors. 

  1. Using the NHSDA Point Tracker again, Junior students must earn an additional 10 points and Senior students must earn an additional 15. 

  2. Once the Point Tracker is completed, return it to the CCA Office.

  3. Your Point Tracker will be reviewed to determine your total number of points earned before being returned to you. 

  4. Next, apply for Honors at the NHSDA website

  5. Then make a payment for your induction and Honor Medallion through our NHSDA Induction Order Form.

  6. A CCA Team member will confirm the application and order the Medallion on your behalf!
