
Rachel Newbrough began her dance journey at Stage I Dance Academy in Greenwood, Indiana, and went on to earn a B.S. in Kinesiology with a concentration in Contemporary Dance from Indiana University. While at IU, she performed works by influential choreographers including Martha Graham, Bella Lewitzky, and Larry Keigwin, shaping her voice as both an artist and mover.
As a freelance performer, Rachel has collaborated with Elizabeth Shea Dance, appearing on the Millennium Stage at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and has performed in festivals and projects across the U.S. and abroad. Her work extends to film, including Breath | Light | Stone and Beautiful by Design: The Indiana University Bloomington Campus.
Rachel currently serves as Artistic Director of Stage I Dance Academy, where she nurtures the next generation of artists with a focus on creativity, individuality, and community. A Certified Coach, Speaker & Trainer through the John Maxwell Team, she also serves with nonprofit Dance Every Journey, bringing movement to senior adults. Through performance, teaching, and leadership, Rachel is committed to cultivating meaningful connections through dance, and feels deeply blessed and honored to continue her work at Stage I, inspiring and guiding young dancers.
