Ryan Galloway, originally from New Richmond, Indiana, grew up learning tap, jazz, and hip hop at Dance By Deborah in Crawfordsville, Indiana, under the direction of Deborah Kochert. He is a graduate of Indiana University, where he received a B.S. in Kinesiology with a focus in Contemporary Dance in 2015. While at IU, he won the Provost’s Award for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity in the category of Performing and Creative Arts and performed works by esteemed choreographers, including Paul Taylor, David Parsons, Larry Keigwin, and Ishan Rustem. He was also privileged to perform at the National College Dance Festival at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Upon graduation, Ryan began dancing professionally with Giordano Dance Chicago. He is currently in his ninth season at Giordano. While with GDC, he has performed all around the country and the world including Hawaii, Israel, and Latvia. He has performed renowned works by Roni Koresh, Ray Leeper, Peter Chu, and Al Blackstone. He has also had the opportunity to choreograph on the Giordano II dancers as part of the annual G on G choreography performances and has choreographed on several Chicagoland high school dance programs which were performed as part of the Barrington Choreography project. This fall with Giordano, he performed at the Illinois High School Dance Festival and taught jazz and Giordano repertoire to over 200 dance students. Ryan began teaching dance at Principle Dance in January of 2018 and then, he and his wife, Kimberly, took over as Owners and Artistic Directors in June of 2018. He enjoys teaching Tap, Hip-Hop, and Jazz and is certified in the Basic, Beginning, and Intermediate levels of the Nan Giordano Certification Program for the Giordano Jazz dance technique. Since then, he has taught and choreographed for many dance studios and schools throughout the Midwest. His choreography has been presented at the Cathedral Dance Festival Gala, Cru Dance Competition (Ultimate Elite, 1st Place Production, Entertainment Showdown Champion), Starbound Dance Competition (High Gold, Audience Choice Award, Top-Scoring Production), and Believe National Talent Competition (Platinum Plus, 1st in Category, 1st Place Overall Junior Line, Golden Ticket to Nationals)
