7th Grade-Up
STARLET ACADEMY
The "Starlet Academy" is designed to inspire, educate, and stimulate the creativity of the young, first-time, or recreational dancer. These classes are offered in combination format of Tap, Jazz and Ballet. They are geared to promote camaraderie among dancers and instructors, nurturance in the teaching-learning process, and time to smile and enjoy the class. We also use a variety of music, making sure that they are always enjoyable and age-appropriate.
ages 10 - up
Ballet
Our ballet program is the Foundation of all our departments at MYM. Ballet classes are leveled from 1-3 and include other classes such as pre-pointe, beginning pointe and advanced pointe. Our Ballet program is for any dancer who wishes to train for educational or competitive purposes. We offer this program to ages 6 and up.
Acro
Our acrobatics arts program is the core of our AcroDance department at MYM. AcroDance is based on safe and effective progressions with proven results in five divisions: Flexibility, Strength, Balancing, Limbering and Tumbling. Developed with input from professionals and experts in ballet, modern dance, jazz, contortion, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, sport acrobatics, yoga, acro yoga, pilates, physiotherapy , hand balancing and more, you will not find a more comprehensive program. The simple, thoughtful progressions take the beginner preschool level dancer from log rolls and somersaults to the advanced dancer tumbling effortlessly across the stage

Grades 7th-9th
Funk Fusion
Funk Fusion is a high-energy class for dancers who want to build a strong foundation in hip hop while developing confidence and style. Dancers will focus on technique, musicality, strength, coordination, and performance quality through age-appropriate choreography and across-the-floor combinations. This class encourages creativity, self-expression, and teamwork in a fun, supportive environment while helping students grow as confident performers.
Super Stars
Super Stars classes are a combination of tap and jazz for 7th-9th grade. The Starlet Academy is a great introduction to dance fundamentals, allowing for education and preparation for future dance progress. The classes focus on building technique in a stress free atmosphere while dancing to training aids that are helping to build muscle memory, instilling vocabulary, and building self-esteem. Most students are assigned to class according to their grade level in school, but it is not uncommon for a more advanced dancer to move ahead to the next class level. *This class is almost full so sign up for your free trial class today!
Dance Team Technique
This beginner level dance team technique class is designed for students 7th- 9th grade who are interested in developing the skills needed for Dance team performance. Dancers will learn and refine fundamental techniques including turns, kicks, jumps, flexibility and performance quality. Classes focus on proper technique, musicality and confidence while preparing dancers for dance team style choreography. No dance experience needed
