Meet the Fireflies Team

At Fireflies Preschool, our team is made up of experienced, caring educators who are passionate about early childhood development. Each member of our staff brings a unique blend of education, creativity, and heart to the classroom, creating a nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn. We are proud to partner with families to help every Firefly grow with confidence, curiosity, and joy.

Tracey Martin - Fireflies Director and 4s Lead Teacher

Tracey grew up in Elizabethtown, North Carolina, and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, along with an elementary education certification. With 31 years of experience teaching kindergarten, she brings a deep knowledge of early childhood development and a strong passion for nurturing young learners.

Tracey has served as the Director of Fireflies Preschool since its founding in 2023, where she is dedicated to creating a supportive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for every child. She is proud to be part of the Fireflies Preschool team and values the strong partnership between educators and families.

Outside the classroom, Tracey enjoys reading, traveling, attending sporting events, and cheering on the UNC Tar Heels. She and her husband, Dayton, have three daughters—Dayleigh, Addison, and Palmer—and a goldendoodle named Ramsey.

Angie Dineen - 2s and 3s Lead Teacher

Ms. Angie is originally from Central New York, where she earned an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration while operating her own dance studio. She moved to North Carolina over 22 years ago and brings a strong background in education, dance, and community service.

With more than 25 years of dance instruction experience, Ms. Angie has worked as a substitute teacher across multiple counties and has served Wake County Public Schools for the past nine years. She has also held PTA leadership roles, volunteered in classrooms, and worked as a preschool librarian. Ms. Angie is excited to be part of Fireflies Preschool and is passionate about helping children learn and grow.

Kylie - 4s Teacher Assistant

Kylie is excited to begin her second year at Fireflies Preschool, where she will be assisting Mrs. Tracey in the four-year-old classroom. She is currently continuing her education at Wake Technical Community College after earning her Associate’s Degree in Business from Johnston Community College in December.

Kylie enjoys working with young children and values being part of a supportive, engaging learning environment. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys playing pickleball and spending time with her family.

Sara - 3s Teacher Assistant

Sara grew up in Benson, North Carolina, where she continues to reside. She is a recent high school graduate and is currently training to pursue a career as a professional dancer in New York.

Miss Sara has several years of experience working with children through teaching PreDance classes and babysitting. She enjoys supporting young learners and is excited to be part of the Fireflies Preschool team.

Kaitlynd - 2s Teacher Assistant

Kaitlynd is excited to return to Fireflies Preschool this year as an assistant teacher. In addition to her role at Fireflies, she works as a hairdresser and swim instructor. She is currently pursuing her degree in Early Childhood Education through online coursework.

Kaitlynd enjoys staying active and brings a fun, energetic approach to working with children. Outside of the classroom, she has a love for cars, Monster Jam, and Disney movies. She is looking forward to a wonderful school year with Fireflies families.
