Dance is a performing art! If you love to perform, consider the benefits of becoming a member of Company at The Pointe! Company is our performance-focused competitive dance team.
Company at The Pointe is a positive and uplifting competitive dance experience. Dancers work as a team to improve their technical and performance skills, and grow in work ethic, time management, confidence, and teamwork.
Company dancers learn skills earlier, at an accelerated pace, and with higher standards of mastery. Technique classes and an environment focused on growth give dedicated dancers the opportunity to develop their skills and technique while learning and perfecting their performance quality. Training begins in the summer to really help our dancers reach their full potential over the season!
Community Team performs throughout the Cedar Rapids area during the
year! Performances in past seasons have included:
Pre-game performance at a Cedar Rapids Kernel’s game
Half-time performance at a Cedar Rapids Roughriders game
Performances at Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmer’s Market
Nursing home performances
Halloween Parade
The Pointe’s Holiday Showcase
Recital
Dance is a performing art, and there is no better learning opportunity than experience. Dancers learn problem solving, performing skills, adaptability, and more by performing different routines in a variety of settings. Dancers also learn from a variety of different instructors in their weekly classes and rehearsals.
The Pointe’s Company dancers perform age-appropriate dances and enjoy a sense of belonging to a team, building lasting friendships. Our main goal is to use dance as a vehicle to teach life lessons that will have value in any vocation. Other goals include teaching dancers about all aspects of performing, helping them become comfortable experiencing new things, guiding them in learning to set and work towards goals, and encouraging them to compare themselves not to others, but to who they were yesterday!
