Goodhew Dance is one of the leading dance institutions in Sydney’s inner suburbs. At our studio, we aim to encourage a widespread love of dance, welcoming children and adults who can’t help but feel the rhythm!

As a family operated business established in 1989, we are so proud of our students, their lifetime friendships and everything they achieve.

ABOUT GOODHEW DANCE

Located in Alexandria, Goodhew Dance is a comprehensive dance school for children of all ages. We offer a wide range of styles so our students can choose one or a myriad of styles and be taught in a professional but fun, and engaging way.

Our studio was established by the Goodhew sisters, Mandie, Mylie and Melanie. Over thirty years, we have built a reputation not only for outstanding dance training but for an environment where every student feels at home.

Past students now return to Goodhew and to bring their young children to classes. We are excited to have created a studio which so many local residents love to come back to.

ADA Pre Elementary Tap Accreditations, READY SET DANCE, BALLET AND ACRO Teacher, Certificate IV in dance at Ettingshausens Pro (2021), Dream Show Business Short Course through the Dream Dance Company (2022), Currently working as a commercial dancer.

I love teaching at Goodhew because of the amazing relationship I have not only with my peers and students, but also with the other teachers and loving owners of this Goodhew Dance. It is the highlight of my week to come and pass on my knowledge of dance to my students and watch them grow and improve every week. Goodhew is like a second home to me.

BRITTANY ABELA

QUALIFICATIONS -

Cert IV in Dance, ADA Elementary Tap and Jazz, Bachelor of Arts and Social Sciences (HONOURS) Criminology.

I love getting to watch kids that I have been teaching since Pre Primary, grow up to be amazing performers. It's really special to be a part of.

SOMETHING MOST PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ABOUT MISS BRITTANY: Most people don't know that I collect all of the tickets from every musical that I have been to!

ANA MARIA BELO

QUALIFICATIONS -

Bachelor of Dramatic Arts in Acting, Currently an Actor on tv, film, theatre and musical theatre.

What I love about Goodhew is how I much everyone seems like they are part of a big family. It is so rewarding to feel as if I am a part of something that students come to and not one grow as performers, but also as people.

SOMETHING YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT MISS ANA: I can lip read across a room!

DANIELA JOLEZ

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ready Set Dance Teacher (Silver level), Currently studying a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Advanced studies (Media and Communications) at the University of Sydney.

I love being able to be a part of a big supportive family, and it is so rewarding to watch the kids improve and to see how happy dance makes them!

SOMETHING YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT MISS DANIELA: I used to play the clarinet and performed with a band at the opera house when I was 11!

BRITTANY ABELA

QUALIFICATIONS -

Cert IV in Dance, ADA Elementary Tap and Jazz, READY SET DANCE and READY SET BALLET Accreditation, Bachelor of Arts and Social Sciences (HONOURS) Criminology I love getting to be a part of the journey’s of the students we see grow up at the studio and become not just amazing performers but amazing people. This was something I experienced for myself growing up at Goodhew and its really special to be a part of.

CHLOE BORER

QUALIFICATIONS -

ADA Pre Elementary Tap and Jazz; Ready Set Dance, Ready Set Ballet and Ready Set Acro Certification. 3rd Year of a Bachelor of Secondary Education (Maths/English) at USYD, also working as a School Learning Support Officer at Randwick Girls HS as well as an assistant choreographer and assistant music director for the Randwick Girls and Boys HS Show.

I love watching the students grow! Getting to see them at the very beginning of their dancing journey in Ready Set Dance and then fostering that love of dance throughout the grade classes is so unbelievably rewarding. It's so fulfilling to see all of them become a part of our Goodhew family.

orientated dance school. It feels like my second home and the friendships I’ve made through this studio are friendships for life.

I love doing makeup. The art of transforming the face is another creative outlet for me.

MILLICENT HULST

QUALIFICATIONS -

Beginners coach - GYMNASTICS AUSTRALIA. Intermediate coach - GYMNASTICS AUSTRALIA. Advanced Acrobatic Gymnastics coach - GYMNASTICS AUSTRALIA. Advanced Acrobatic Gymnastics Judge - GYMNASTICS AUSTRALIA. Double degree in a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours)/Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) at UNSW. Coach at AAGI Gymnastics Academy and Gladesville Gymnastics Club.

All the students are there to learn and are very keen to expand their skill sets and capabilities. The other staff are so friendly and willing to help whenever they can.

SOMETHING YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT MISS MILLIE: I started gymnastics after I did a holiday circus skills camp with my first club. I went home that night and begged mum to sign me up for classes!

GENEVIEVE BEVILACQUA

QUALIFICATIONS – ADA Elementary Jazz and Tap

Miss Gen has been a part of our Goodhew family for an epic 30 years! Her favourite style of dance is Tap. Miss Gen loves the family feel at the studio and how encouraging and passionate everyone is about dance and teaching. She loves passing on her passion and some great life skills to her students, watching their hard work flourish!

MADELINE AGIUS

QUALIFICATIONS -

Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Science (Mathematics Major) and Masters of Teaching (Mathematics and History) both from USYD. Currently also working as a high school mathematics teacher

LEYTON HOLMES

QUALIFICATIONS -

Ready Set Dance Qualified Teacher, Advanced Diploma in Performing Arts at Ed5 International, Currently internationally touring with Miss Saigon the Musical.

I love teaching at Goodhew because of the encouraging and friendly environment that is maintained by all students and teachers, showing their support and love for one another.

SOMETHING YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT MR LEYTON: I began dancing at the age of 2 and see ballet and its technique as a strong foundation for the majority of other dance styles creating a well rounded performer. I also love burgers!
