2024 Summer Schedule
Class Descriptions
Ballet
Ballet dance explores the foundational elements of the technique. Dancers work through a structured class developed to understand the French terminology and the overall movement qualities found in ballet dance. Our ballet classes focus on learning the vocabulary of ballet steps as well as the technique used to properly execute them.
Hip Hop
Hip Hop dance explores movement from many different social and cultural backgrounds. Our hip hop classes focus on basic steps and rhythms while encouraging dancers to find their unique movement style.
Tap
Tap dance mixes music and movement. Dancers explore different ways to create rhythm, both with and without music. Our tap classes focus on learning the basic rhythms of many steps by following a structured curriculum. Dancers also learn how to interact with a musical beat by adding their layer of tap sounds.
Jazz
Jazz dance explores the rhythm and dynamics of music and has a rich history. Our jazz classes focus on jazz dance basics with a focus on strength and powerful movement.
Lyrical
Lyrical dance combines techniques from jazz and ballet with a heavy focus on interpreting the lyrics of the music. Our lyrical classes focus on connecting dancers to the music as well as exploring expressing emotions through movement.
Musical Theater
Musical theater dance classes explore song and dance. Our musical theater classes include time dedicated to individual singing and dancing exercises in addition to performing the skills together with a focus on storytelling.
