CLASSES COMMENCE FROM 3RD FEBRUARY

WHAT IS THE ALL STAR PROGRAM?

The All Star Program is an auditioned group of dancers and cheerleaders who compete in 'All Star Dance & Cheer' competitions. It was created for those students who wished to push their abilities and dedicate themselves to a more elite performance experience. There are three branches of this stream;

● All Star Dance

● Elite dance teams in the style of Pom, Jazz, Lyrical and Hip Hop

● Dance Doubles (duos) as an optional add on for interested members part of the All Star program

● All Star Cheer

With a focus on precision and high quality routines and teams, The All Star Stream competes at State and National competitions through the AASCF in huge stadiums and convention centres. The Dance Affinity was lucky enough to be selected to represent Australia at the 2022 IASF Dance World Championships in Orlando, Florida. In 2024 we returned again with 3 teams competing in the Dance Worlds as well as Varsity Summit Challenge (essentially Dance Worlds but for younger dancers).

Auditions for our 2025 teams will be held on Tuesday 28th January @ The Dance Affinity, Unanderra

● 4pm - 5pm CHEER (All ages)

● 5:15pm - 6:00pm YOUTH DANCE (8 - 12yrs)

● 6:00pm - 6:45pm SENIOR DANCE (13 - 18yrs)

ALL STAR DANCE

All Star Dance was introduced at the Dance Affinity in 2020. It was created for those students who really wished to push their abilities and dedicate themselves to a more elite performance experience. Teams are made up of auditioned dancers who work on high-energy dance routines to compete in the All Star Dance world.

The program has seen many accolades, including State and National Champions. In 2022, a team of 12 dancers qualified to compete 2 routines in the prestigious IASF Dance World Championships in Florida, USA. In 2024 we were fortunate to be selected for the international stage yet again, this time taking 3 routines to IASF Dance Worlds and Varsity Summit events.

DANCE DOUBLES

Dance Doubles is a group of 2 dancers, who compete at All Star Competitions, executing a 1:30 routine filled with skills, choreography and precision dancing in Jazz, Lyrical, Pom or Hip Hop. This opportunity is available to anyone who is part of an All Star Dance or Cheer team. All competitions are virtual, meaning routines are filmed at the studio and submitted for virtual competitions. The only in-person doubles competition is AASCF Nationals in Melbourne, and is subject to qualifying in the August virtual comp.

CHEERLEADING

ALL STAR CHEER

All Star Cheer is a high energy, team based performance sport that is athletic, artisitc and acrobatic. It involves athletes competing a 2:30 routine composed of tumbling, stunting, pyramids, dance and cheer segments. There is a prescribed list of skills and stunts that can be incorporated into a routine.

All Star competitions are held in huge stadiums in Sydney and the Gold Coast. Athletes are treated to professional lighting and sound, get to perform on a huge sprung floors and are cheered on by hundreds of people.

Founded by Teagan Huntsdale, The Dance Affinity offers dance classes and performing arts classes to Wollongong and the Illawarra. Our dance classes offer a range of styles for varying abilities and ages, from our preschool to open adult classes. With highly experienced staff in both dance and teaching, we provide training for the aspiring professional dancer, the recreational dancer, or the dancing singer and actor. Each dance experience will enhance your knowledge and abilities whilst igniting your affinity for dance.
