What to wear?

Non restricting clothing to help you move freely. For the new little dancer we do have a donation bin that you can borrow shoes for trial classes. Visit the Dress Code page for details.

What to bring?

Only water bottles are allowed in the Class Room. Please have your child bring a water bottle to put at the front of the classroom so they can stay hydrated.  

If you will be at the studio for a longer period of time we suggest you bring healthy snacks, which can be put in the lockers or kitchen refrigerator. No Gum please.

How do I Receive Class Placement and move up?

Class placement is based on your age and ability/level.  Staff will evaluate students upon entry to ensure they are all placed in the correct level class for the season.   Teachers will issue evaluation cards at the end of each season for placement/level changes. 

Experience Levels:

Beginners = Level I

Beginners / Intermediate = Level I/II

Intermediate = Level II

Intermediate / Advanced = Level II/III

Advanced - Level III

(All more Advanced level classes are a part of the competitive program)

Beginner Teen Ages 12+

= Beginner Teen Classes ages 12+ Level I.  This level class is geared towards the late starter.  

Someone who is older but does not have that much experience. 

Competition Team:

Advancement on the team levels are decided at each season's auditions. The judges evaluate and move up dancers based on their technique and evaluation scores.

What Programs Do You Offer?

Recreational

Participate in our non-recital classes.

Adults participate in our Beginner Adult classes.

Recital Program

Most of our classes perform in the June Recital. 

These classes are highlighted in Pink on the "Schedule by Day" file on the Fall/Spring Schedule page.

Our Beginner Teen Classes participate in the June Recital.

Looking to perform once a year without the competition commitment the recital program is for you. 

Train for the season from August to June to perform in the recital. 

Technical Training

Come to any of our Level I to III classes for Hip Hop, Turns/Tech, Jazz, Lyrical and Ballet for technical training.  

You can Drop into a class anytime during the season and pay the drop in rate.

Register for the term and attend the class for the season to work on your technique.

What are the different Styles of Dance?

Ages 2 and up

Ballet

Work at the Barre and Combinations Across the floor.

Breaking (Level I to III)

Learn Basics to advanced levels in breaking technique and skills. Beginner to Advanced breaking footwork and style along with head stands, helicopters, coffee grinders etc..and many more fun breakdancing tricks and moves.  Classes for ages 6 to 19.

Combo Dance Class

This class covers 2-4 styles (Hip Hop, Tap, Jazz and Ballet) The schedule will show what styles will be covered. Styles will be given their set days and times that they will rotate them throughout the season.

Contemporary

Learn Choreographed Contemporary style Combinations at the level of the class.

The Ellove Technique

The Ellové Technique® is a conditioning and cross-training class taught by certified dance specialists and educators. The pure techniques of ballet, yoga, fitness, and Pilates are set to music in a seamless movement sequence that improves strength, flexibility, and control. Incorporating principles of dance medicine and science, The Ellové Technique reduces injury risk by targeting muscle imbalances, refining alignment, increasing endurance, and practicing safe stretching techniques.

Hip Hop (Level I to IV and Beginner Teen)

Learn Choreographed combinations with hip hop style of dance at the level of the class. 

All Boys Hip Hop

Work with an instructor learning the hip hop style of dance in an all boys setting.

Jazz

Learn turns, leaps, jazz technique, and Jazz Style Choreographed Combinations.

Jazz (Level I to III and Beginner Teen)

Learn Turns, Leaps, Kicks, Across the Floor Combinations, and Choreographed Jazz Combinations

Kinder Combo

Combination class for ages 5-6 focuses on the core developmental skills of Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap and Ballet. 

Leaps / Jumps (Level I to III)

Learn Jazz Technique leaps and jumps at the level of the class. 

Lyrical ( Level I to III)

Learn Choreographed Lyrical style Combinations at the level of the class. Technical progressions at the level of the class. Learn Turns, Leaps, Lyrical style Choreographed Combinations.

Modern

Learn Choreographed Modern style Combinations at the level of the class. Modern is a combination of hip hop and jazz styles.

Pre-Pointe / Pointe

Pre-Pointe - Learn Ballet Technique at the Barre to strengthen your feet to prepare you for Pointe.

Pointe - Ballet Technique at the Barre and combinations across the floor on Pointe. 

Stretch 

Work on your flexibility and your splits.

Tap (Level I to III)

Basic to Advanced tap technique is taught with rhythmic and detailed combinations given to challenge every dancer. Learn tap skills and techniques and progress as you move up levels. 

Tumbling (Level I to III)

Learn Gymnastics tumbling from beginner to advanced levels. See what happens in class for more details.

Turns Tech (Level I to III)

Learn Jazz Turns and Technique at the level of the class.

What happens in Class?

🔹The first 10-15 minutes of class will consist of stretching to prevent injury.

🔹Your child will be given bathroom breaks each class varies based on the age.  

🔹Please give your child a bathroom break before entering class.
