What is The Star Factory?

The Star Factory is a vibrant inclusive dance studio in Joondalup offering classes for children aged 18 months to professionals across a variety of styles. We cater to all levels, from beginners to elite performers through our recreational and performance programs.

Where is the studio located?

You'll find us at 5 Royce Court, Joondalup WA, in our custom-built studio space with nearly 900 sqm of purpose-designed dance facilities.

What age can my child start dance classes?

We welcome dancers from age 18 months with our energetic and playful preschool classes. We also offer recreational and elite programs right through to adults.

ENROLMENT

How do I enrol my child in a class?

Visit our Enrol Now page to view available classes and secure your child’s spot. New families can also book a free trial to experience the studio first. Book your free trial on our website.

Can we try a class before committing?

Absolutely! Trial classes are available for most age groups. Just get in touch and we’ll help you find the perfect one to try.

Do you offer classes during school holidays?

Our regular timetable runs during school terms, but we often run exciting workshops and special events during school holidays. Keep an eye on our socials and emails for updates.

CLASSES

What dance styles do you offer?

We offer classes in jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, acrobatics, conditioning, aerial silks, musical theatre, and vocal training. There’s something for every dancer!

Do you have performance opportunities?

Yes! All dancers are invited to participate in our end-of-year concerts. Performance team members also enjoy extra opportunities like competitions, showcases, and special events.

What should my child wear to class?

Each class has a specific uniform available at reception. We’ll guide you with exactly what’s needed once you're enrolled.

READY SET DANCE PROGRAMS (AGES 2-5)

What is Ready Set Dance?

Ready Set Dance is an award-winning dance program for preschoolers aged 3–5, designed to build confidence, coordination and creativity through music, movement and fun! It includes jazz, hip hop, musicality, and tap. All-in-one class.

What is Ready Set Ballet?

Ready Set Ballet is a beautiful introduction to ballet for ages 3–5. Dancers twirl, leap, and tiptoe their way through imaginative themes while developing balance, posture, and basic ballet technique in a magical story-based format.

What is Ready Set Move?

Ready Set Move is a delightful movement and music class for toddlers aged 1.5–3 and their grown-ups. It’s the perfect bonding experience that builds early motor skills, rhythm, and social confidence while having a blast!

What is Ready Set Acro?

Ready Set Acro introduces safe and fun tumbling, balance, and flexibility skills for preschoolers aged 2–5. It’s a playful energetic class that supports physical development, builds strength, and confidence from the ground up.

Do the preschoolers perform in a concert?

Yes! All preschool dancers are invited to perform in our Ready Set Dance Party Concert in November. It’s short, sweet, and designed to be a positive first stage experience for our littlest superstars.

What do they wear to class?

Each program has its own colourful comfortable uniform available at the studio. We’ll let you know the best outfit for your chosen class once you enrol.

Can I watch the class?

Our preschool classes are drop-off style to help build independence and focus. However, we offer Parent Viewing Weeks during the term so you can see all the joy and progress in action.

For Ready Set Move, a parent or carer joins in the class alongside their child, making it a shared experience.

Do I need to stay on-site during the class?

For ages 3+, parents are welcome to drop and go. For Ready Set Move, a parent or carer joins in the class alongside their child, making it a shared experience.

DANCE STARS (RECREATIONAL PROGRAM FOR AGES 5+)

What is the Dance Stars program?

Dance Stars is our fun high-energy recreational program for school-aged children aged 5 and up. It’s perfect for beginners or dancers who love to move without the pressure of exams or comps.

What styles are included?

Each Dance Stars class covers a combination of jazz, acro, hip hop, and lyrical, which is a great way to build solid foundations and explore different dance styles in one session.

Do Dance Stars perform in a concert?

Yes! Dance Stars are the stars of their very own Dance Stars Concert in December and a mid year showcase in May, an age-appropriate and confidence-building performance experience that families love.

What uniform do Dance Stars wear?

Dance Stars wear a Dance Stars t-shirt and bike pants, with a crop top or leotard underneath. Uniforms are available through our in-house.

Is Dance Stars suitable for beginners?

Definitely. It’s the ideal entry point for kids with little or no dance experience who want to build skills, make friends, and have fun each week.

STAR FACTORY SUPREME (ELITE STREAM)

What is Star Factory Supreme?

This is our elite performance stream for driven dancers wanting to extend their training through exams, competitions, and advanced performance opportunities.

How do I join Star Factory Supreme?

If your dancer is committed and eager, speak to your teacher or email us for more information. Supreme stream dancers are required to take Ballet classes to ensure the highest level technique.

FEES & PAYMENTS

How much are the classes?

Fees vary depending on class length and type. We offer discounted class bundles and capped pricing to make dance more affordable for families.

How do I pay my fees?

All payments are handled through our Enrollio portal. Families can choose from upfront or instalment options.

CONCERTS & EVENTS

Do all students participate in concerts?

Yes! Every dancer has the opportunity to perform. We host age-appropriate professionally run concerts each year to celebrate your child’s growth and achievements.

Are there additional concert or costume fees?

Yes, concert and costume fees are charged separately. We aim to keep these affordable while ensuring a high-quality stress-free experience for families.

How will I receive studio updates?

We communicate via email, our private Facebook groups, and notices in Enrollio. Be sure your contact info is up to date so you don’t miss a thing.
