Inspirations Dance Competition Team is an elite performance group that is open to dancers age 5+ with at least one year dance experience and invitation from instructors.

Students who demonstrate a love for dance and excel in their recital classes are encouraged to deepen their dance education through Competition.

One Extra Class and One Weekend Per Month

Our Team Members can choose to participate in only our large group, or opt in to as many additional groups as are available for their age and ability level.

Minimally, Team Dancers attend one extra class each week for rehearsal, in addition to their recital classes. This is usually on Monday evening.

The Team can also expect one weekend event each month. In Fall & Winter, these are choreography sessions, rehearsal days or guest instructor workshops. In Spring, the Team competes over 3 weekends. For 2025, one competition will be in Omaha and two in Kansas City area.

The cost of Team is +1 weekly class tuition for the rehearsal time and a monthly fee to cover costumes, entry fees, props and other team expenses.

Inspirations Wins Big at Second Competition

The Competition Dance Team from Inspirations Academy in Savannah won Studio of Excellence, Ultimate Precision and Ultimate Showmanship, among many other awards at Beyond the Stars, Kansas City Regional, at Scottish Rite Center of Kansas City on Saturday, March 16

The Association of Dance Competitions & Conventions Studio of Excellence Award recognizes one studio with dancers, staff and family members who are friendly, helpful, and show great sportsmanship backstage and throughout the competition.

“This is the best Award we could receive,” says Ingersoll. “We are making great people through dance, and this Award is recognition that it's working!”

Inspirations Academy has been sharing dance technique and appreciation, Inspiring Students to love the Arts for a lifetime, since 2007 in Savannah, Missouri. Inspirations is a More Than Just Great Dancing licensed affiliate studio, subscribing to a higher standard of teaching and management principles. Inspirations Academy houses Inspirations Preschool Academy, an arts-based educational program for ages 3-5. The Competition Dance Team from Inspirations Academy in Savannah won Most Entertaining, among many other awards at Platinum National Dance Competition, Kansas City Regional, at Liberty Performing Arts Center on Saturday, February 17.

“It was a really fun way to kick off our competition season,” says Mary Ingersoll, Owner and Competition Team Director. “These dancers have worked very hard and overcome challenges. It’s exciting when judges recognize our work.”

Jai Ho, featuring Alexia Collings, Devyn Ferrell, Elise Dudeck, Josie Smock, Kiley Caton, Olivia Tunks and Taylor Patton received a Platinum Adjudication, First Place Overall, a Choreography Award, Technique Award, and the Entertainment Award over the entire competition.

Danger Zone, Lydia Markt, received a Platinum Adjudication, First Place in Category, First Place Overall, and a nomination for Artist of the Year.

Izzy Naber & Taylor Patton were recognized with a Heart of Gold Awards in partnership with I Dance For a Cure. Only one dancer was selected from each age group.

Inspirations Dancers Earn Hollywood Invitation

Members of the Competition Dance Team from Inspirations Academy in Savannah were highly awarded at Rainbow National Dance Competition, Kansas City Regional, at Overland Park Convention Center on Friday.

Josie Smock and Payton Hanna earned invitations and $500 Scholarships to The Hollywood Dance Experience in Los Angeles in July.

Josie Smock, received a Platinum Adjudication for her solo, Fighter.

With their duet, Heads Carolina, Tails California, Josie Smock and Payton Hanna, received a Platinum Adjudication, First in Category and Fifth Place Overall.

“It’s such fun to watch our dancers grow and learn over the years and through the season,” says Mary Ingersoll, Owner of Inspirations Academy. “Payton and Josie are having a fantastic season and improving each time they hit the stage.”
