Honoring Finley Miller: The Friends of Finley Memorial Fund

At Red Door Dance Academy, we believe in the power of community, love, and dance. Today, we want to share a very special initiative in honor of Finley Miller, a beloved Red Door student who left us too soon due to brain cancer.

Finley’s joy, spirit, and passion for dance touched everyone around her, and we are dedicated to keeping her memory alive. That’s why we’ve created the Friends of Finley Memorial Fund—a way to honor her legacy and make a meaningful impact on others.

Remembering Finley

Finley was more than just a talented dancer—she was a bright light in every class she took. She had a way of making others feel welcome, bringing fun and kindness wherever she went. One of her dance teachers, Molly, shared this beautiful memory of Finley:

"Finley was a wonderful dancer who found fun in every class. I remember one day during a freeze dance game, there was a new student who was very shy and was standing towards the back of the room. Finley walked right up to her, held her hand, and they danced together the rest of class. She was a great friend to others and always wanted to share her joy. I’m grateful to have known Finley, her sass, and her joy." – Molly

It is this kindness, joy, and love for dance that we hope to carry forward through the Friends of Finley Memorial Fund.

How the Friends of Finley Fund Helps

The Friends of Finley Memorial Fund will be used in two powerful ways:

1. Supporting Dancers in Need

Half of the funds will provide a deserving dancer with the opportunity to take classes at Red Door for a full year. Finley’s love for dance was inspiring, and we want to pass that same joy to another young dancer who may not otherwise have the opportunity.

2. Supporting Pediatric Brain Cancer Research

The other half of the funds will be donated to The Cure Starts Now, an incredible organization dedicated to finding a cure for cancers like pediatric brain cancer. This organization has been a great support to the Miller family, and we are honored to contribute to their mission.

100% of Donations Go Directly to the Cause

Every dollar donated will go directly to supporting a dancer or funding cancer research. Red Door Dance Academy will cover all overhead costs related to this scholarship so that donations can go entirely toward making a difference.
