Emily Thomas

Emily has been dancing for 19 years and teaching for 9 years. She started her dance journey on Wylie drill team when she was 11 and was on the 1st and 2nd line of the Cooper Junior High Sparklers. She then went to Wylie High School where she was a lieutenant her junior year and held the position of Captain her senior year. She danced on Collin Colleges’ modern dance company CDE for 3 years and then went on to study dance at the University of North Texas.

Emily has choreographed award winning solos/duets/trios, small ensembles and large group dances for teams in Wylie, Sachse, Murphy, Burleson and Denton.

Specializes in contemporary, hip hop, jazz, jazz funk, and pom.

Taylor Waters

Taylor has been dancing since 1999 and teaching since 2011. In high school, she was the inaugural First Lieutenant of the McMillen Dazzler Drill Team (Plano).

She has choreographed award winning small group, large group, and solos for drill teams in East Plano, West Plano, Wylie, and College Station.

Her students have gone on to be professional and collegiate dancers on the Aggie Dance Team, University of Houston Dance Team, University of Texas Pom, UTD Pom, TWU Dance Team, Rangerettes, Houston Texans, and Dallas Cowboys Rhythm & Blue.

Specializes in lyrical, contemporary, jazz.

Jamie Williams

Jamie started her dance career in the eighth grade by joining her award winning drill team, the Ford High School Blue Belles in Quinlan, TX. It was there that she built experience in choreography, event participation, and leadership, as she was named Lieutenant her junior year and Captain her senior year.

Jamie graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Dallas with a degree in Psychology and Performing Arts. As a dancer at UTD, she studied and performed under the direction of Micki Saba, head of the dance department at UTD, Michelle Hanlon of Elledanceworks, and Jennifer Mabus of Robert Battle’s company in New York, Battleworks. While at UTD, she participated in the American College Dance Festival Association (ACDFA) and worked with many prestigious choreographers from around the nation.

Jamie has choreographed for showcases at UTD, a multitude of local high school drill teams, a variety of high-scoring competition solos and group routines, and even the musical “Beauty and the Beast” for Colleyville Covenant Christian Academy. Fun fact! She coached cheer for 6 years at Wylie Preparatory
Academy.

Jamie is a Level 1 Certified MuvMethod Instructor. MuvMethod is a mind-body movement system designed to meet the physical, mental, and emotional needs of dancers. This science-based approach to dance conditioning specializes in weekly stretching made safe, easy, and effective to help dancers reach their full potential while avoiding injury.

Jamie has been at Red Door since 2014, but has been teaching dance since 2006. She continuously strives to grow as a choreographer and dance educator in learning new techniques and styles. She is proud to be Red Door’s Shining Stars Director, the STAR program director,
and Company Inspired's
Assistant Director.

Lauren Howard-Celis

Lauren graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M with a BA in Spanish in 2008, an MA in Linguistics in 2010 (Whoop!). While at school, Lauren began working full time at Expressions Dance and Music Studios. She became the Artistic Director of Competitive Dance for four of her five years there. Under Lauren’s direction, the competitive teams and soloists won First Overall titles and placed Top 3 at regional competitions and Top 5 in national-level competitions such as Showstopper, American Dance/Drill Team, Crowdpleasers, Open Call and Encore. She has choreographed team and officer routines for the Atascocita Patriettes; solos and duets for Wylie High School Pacesetters; Wylie East Sapphires; Community High School Dazzlin' Dames; A&M Consolidated High School Bengal Belles and College Station High School Cougars. Her award-winning choreography has been recognized both regionally and nationally. Several dancers under her direction have gone on to become officers of their high school dance and drill teams, as well as Kilgore Rangerettes.

Alexa Guajardo

Alexa holds a B.G.S. from Texas Woman's University (Sociology, Health Studies, English) and an A.A. (Dance) from Collin College. She has been a dancer for 24 years, and a teacher & choreographer for 7. She was a member of the Royse City Golden Debs from 2012-2016, and a dance officer her Junior and Senior years. While still in high school, she choreographed and co-choreographed multiple top-scoring solos, small groups, and team routines. From 2016-2019, she focused her studies on modern and contemporary styles with Collin Dance Ensemble, and sent selected choreography for adjudication at the 2018 South-Central conference of ACDA.Since 2019, Alexa has choreographed many award-winning solos, duets, trios, small groups, and full team routines for several drill teams & their dancers around the DFW metroplex. In addition, she spent a year as the Competitive Director at RAD Dance Arts Academy where she worked to build and refine the program, and she worked within the competitive program at Rhythm House Dance Studio as a choreographer and technical instructor.She is now the founder and artistic director of North Star Dance Project, and has choreographed & presented dozens of contemporary, modern, and jazz pieces for the company in the past four years. Through her work with competitive, recreational, and professional dancers, Alexa has built an ability to create and modify movement for dancers of all ability levels. She loves to build strong dances that showcase clean lines and refined technical skills.

Gabrielle Tilley

Gabrielle started drill team her freshman year at Colleyville Heritage High School on the JV Pantherette Dance Team as a Line Officer. Gabrielle then moved on to the Premier Pantera Varsity Dance Team and became a Senior Lieutenant her senior year. She performed pom, hip-hop, kick, jazz, and prop dances during football season, which included games, pep rallies, and parades. During competition season, she performed lyrical, pom, jazz, and contemporary. As Lieutenant, Gabrielle had the opportunity to help choreograph competition pieces and team solos including her own. The Panteras won 1st place overall at Crowd Pleasers Grand Nationals her last year on the team, and her solo placed top four at Nationals in LA. After high school, Gabrielle went to the University of North Texas and was a member of the North Texas Dancers (NTD) for two years. She served as a representative for the team at appearances around campus, and had the privilege of choreographing dances for game performances. NTD performed at football and basketball games, campus events, and competed in the Jazz 1A division at NDA Nationals. During her time on the team, NTD made it to NDA finals for the first time in program history. While going to school and dancing, Gabrielle also worked for the Universal Dance Association for three years. She traveled across the southwest working with many middle school and high school dance teams. She taught stand routines, gameday etiquette, and technique alongside setting and cleaning dances. Gabrielle is a well-known dance clean freak who specializes pom, hip-hop, and jazz.
